Your History

About Us

Through educational programs and community events, the Sun Prairie Historical Society (SPHS) supports and shares the unique history and heritage of the Crosse House, City of Sun Prairie, and our surrounding communities.

We are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been a cornerstone of our community's cultural landscape for decades, dedicated to keeping the stories of our past alive and accessible.

At the heart of our work is the historic Crosse House, a treasured landmark that serves as both a window into Sun Prairie's past and a gathering place for our community today. Through carefully crafted educational programs, we make history engaging and relevant for visitors of all ages—from school groups discovering their local heritage to lifelong residents uncovering new stories about their hometown.

Our community events bring neighbors together to celebrate the unique character that makes Sun Prairie special. Whether it's seasonal celebrations or special events, we create meaningful experiences that strengthen our community bonds while honoring our shared history.

Our Work

We organize engaging educational programs for schools, families, and community groups that bring local history to life through interactive experiences and storytelling.

Our community events celebrate Sun Prairie's heritage while creating new memories and connections among residents. From guided tours of the Crosse House to seasonal festivals and historical presentations, we make the Sun Prairie history and historic downtown accessible and exciting for everyone.

Our Members

We are entirely volunteer-led, driven by passionate community members who believe that understanding our history enriches our present and guides our future.
